At the Rotary Club of Ikeja G.R.A., we believe that meaningful service goes beyond financial assistance; it is about restoring hope, easing burdens and standing with families when they need support the most.
One of the major highlights of our September activities was our intervention in support of a family caring for a child living with cerebral palsy. This initiative reflects Rotary’s commitment to Maternal and Child Health and Disease Prevention and Treatment, with a focus on supporting vulnerable families and improving access to essential care.

The family, whose father is a former Rotaract President, joined us at our fellowship on Thursday, 4 September 2026, at Golfview Hotel and Conference Centre. What followed was a remarkable demonstration of compassion, generosity and the true spirit of Rotary.
As part of the intervention, the Club donated ₦250,000 alongside essential items to support the family’s immediate needs. Moved by the family’s circumstances, Rotarians present went a step further, contributing an additional ₦550,000 on the spot. This brought the total financial support to an impressive ₦800,000.
Beyond the financial assistance, a compassionate Club member also arranged a six-month supply of medication at a significantly reduced cost, helping to ease the family’s financial burden and support continued access to essential treatment.
This intervention demonstrates what is possible when people come together with a shared commitment to service. Through collective generosity and individual acts of kindness, our members turned compassion into practical support for a family navigating the challenges of caring for a child with additional medical needs.
For us, this is the heart of Rotary: identifying needs, mobilising resources and making a tangible difference in people’s lives. We recognise that sustained care requires more than a single intervention, and we remain inspired to continue supporting initiatives that promote healthier families and stronger communities.
At the Rotary Club of Ikeja G.R.A., Impact remains our anchor, and we will continue to uphold the values of service, compassion and fellowship in everything we do.
